Step 5: Obtain Permits

Building permits are documents issued by a city’s planning department to oversee and approve the construction of your new modular home. It’s necessary to register for building permits when you are involved with property construction because the government regulates all aspects of the completed project including plot plan, foundation, utility hookups, excavation, retaining walls, fencing, and landscaping.
Consider This:

1. Once the customer signs off on the complete set of plans, they are to be submitted to the local department of city planning.

2. Inspections will be performed at specific events during construction. The inspections will be conducted by a city or county employee and will evaluate several aspects of building permits. Generally, permits expire after a certain time period if no inspections have been made
.

3.Other government agencies may need to review and approve your project.  The city or county will inform you of these reviews at the time plans are submitted.

4.If you change the plans during the building process this can cause problems when the project is inspected.  If you decide to make changes, check with your Modular-Experts Representative.

5.Other government agencies may need to review and approve your project. The city or county will inform you of these reviews at the time plans are submitted.
